| ||When my great-aunt Merle Nethercutt Norman started this company in 1931, she created |
a rich legacy. She built a cosmetics empire that manufactures among the finest cosmetics
in the world, and empowers women to own and run their own business. She began her
company faced with many of the challenges that we face today: a struggling U.S. economy,
warfare and financial insecurity. Yet through World War II, the Great Depression, nine
military conflicts and five recessions, her vision not only survives but thrives. She was a
true pioneer — the first of her time to clear roadblocks for women and bestow confidence
that made entrepreneurs out of housewives. To her, no challenge was unsolvable.
She and my father, J.B. Nethercutt, were vigilant about the science and passion that went
into each product. Together they built a brand that customers rely on — and franchisees
prosper from — to this day. Many of our Studios are owned by multiple generations of
family members. My immediate family and I are involved in the daily workings of this
company and are so proud of our American heritage.

between our Home Office staff, Studio Owners and loyal customers.
